#psychlopedia – Enmeshment

Within every relationship there are boundaries. When those boundaries become unclear it is referred to as enmeshment. This is often seen in regards to the emotions of two or more people. When one person in a relationship feels a certain way, and then another begins to have the same feeling, this can be enmeshment. Enmeshment is common between family members when one person’s emotions elevate and in response another family member’s emotions also escalate.
